I am looking to meet and share with other parents and for my son to meet other kids with special needs. All meetups are for parents and kids unless specified parents only. This is a group aimed at bringing together parents and caregivers of a child or teen with special needs. I hope to create a supportive environment where parents feel comfortable both sharing resources and looking at ways in which to find balance in the other facets of life. I plan to invite guest speakers to discuss community resources relevant to the members and am very excited to work with members' feedback for subsequent meetups.
This group's purpose is to organize events with our awesome special need children/family members with other members who "get it". If you are a parent of a special need child, want to get support from other parents who face the same challenges you do, but mostly, relax and have fun, with our without the kids, come and join us.

Seems like we could help eachother avoid the IEP pitfalls, find better resources and possibly create lasting friendships for our children as well as ourselves. As great as our families and friends are, they aren't in our shoes... Heck, sometimes it's a problem trying to …

I want to start this group to share resources, stories, successes and also so Mamas like us can have a girls night too! *if Dads are interested in getting together, my Hubby is willing to set up a group as well!*
