The Northern Illinois center for Autism (NICA) is a 501c3 non profit organization that was developed by parents, guided by professionals and has grown over these past 5 years into an organization that has a networking membership of over 575 contacts. Serving well over 1,250 people annually, NICA continues to grow and assist people with autism, their family members and those in the community who support them.

It's tough to be "different." It's good to have friends. Young adults with disabilities want and need social interaction and often find it difficult to interact with their peers. This group will plan social events and activities for the group where they can mix and mingle and enjoy each other's company, making new friends.

This is a play/support group for parents who have children with sensory issues,autism, aspergers, etc. I have found that it can be tough going through this as a parent and very confusing. I would love to meet other parents going through the same thing and give the kids a playgroup with buddies that are like them. This is a very laid back group, we do not judge or force any kind of advice on eachother, this is a place for comfort, play and new friendships.

Kids Communicate is a group for kids (Grades 3 - 7) who have Aspergers, or high functioning autism. The group is also for children who have challenges with verbal and/or written communication, but good intelligence. Tourette Connection is a meet-up group for anyone whose life is affected by Tourette Syndrome: self, spouse, partner, child, sibling, teacher, health professional, etc. Children are welcome to attend-supervision, snacks, crafts, and games are provided. I will be starting a group for fathers of children with Sensory Processing Disorder, Autism, Aspergers and any other related condition. We can meet once a month, twice a month.
