This meetup group is a continuation of the Aspie Friends group that has been around since 2007. Located in Greenville, SC, Aspie Friends is a non-profit organization that provides support to children and families dealing with high-functioning autism. High-functioning autism is only a segment of ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) which includes Asperger’s Syndrome. The term 'Aspie' is an affectionate name given to those who are diagnosed with Asperger's.
